Building Hope for Vulnerable Children Across Continents

We are a nonprofit in North Carolina dedicated to transforming the lives of orphaned children in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Founded by Guylain Masengo, Fraternite Plus 1 is a 501(c)(3) organization committed to providing essential care, comprehensive education, and practical vocational training to approximately 1,000 vulnerable children.

Our Journey

For over 13 years, we have remained steadfast in our nonprofit mission and vision to serve orphaned children facing unimaginable hardship. As president and founder, Guylain Masengo established our organization to respond directly to the devastating impact of war in the Democratic Republic of Congo. We provide critical necessities, including nutritious food, quality clothing, proper footwear, and safe housing.

From Learning to Thriving

Beyond meeting basic needs, our comprehensive vocational training programs equip young people with marketable skills in construction, carpentry, tailoring, fashion design, and welding. These practical trades create pathways toward economic independence and community development. Our holistic approach includes psychological support and physical rehabilitation, helping children reintegrate into society with confidence and capability.
